Gen AI and the Future of SEO

Google is moving towards the Search Generative Experience (SGE).

  • It combines reliable data from multiple organic search results and uses Google’s LLM to turn it into a prose answer to a user’s search. Without having to click on any links in the results page.

  • This is the logical extension of the Featured Snippets feature.

  • Web Traffic will likely decline since users won’t need to click on the search results.

What does this mean for Content teams?

  • Content teams will need to adapt and start figuring out how to create content that ranks highly in SGE and gets clicks.

  • Focus on new types of media (like video or podcasts) or,

  • More syndication of content to third parties.

  • Focus on more independent research that provides unique perspectives for a gen AI to cite.

Creating ‘Second Brain Systems’ using Gen AI

Tyler Fisk is doing the 100 days/100 AI use cases challenge. He is using various AI tools to streamline his everyday tasks and thereby, create a second brain system.
