Enterprise Content Marketing Research 2024

CMI's new survey report says 2024 is the year of efficiency & results.

They discovered that many marketers are instructed by their corporates to not use gen AI. This is because of accuracy concerns, a lack of understanding about using gen AI, a lack of training, or copyright concerns.

Marketers who do use gen AI tools use it mostly to brainstorm new topics, research headlines and keywords, and to write content drafts. A majority are using free tools like ChatGPT while some are using AI capabilities offered by their existing CMS.

Marketers are concerned about the low quality of AI-generated content even though they agree that the adoption of AI tools for content development will continue to rise.

Why Adopting GenAI Is So Difficult

Companies are struggling with implementing gen AI within their teams to reap the cost savings and higher efficiencies that AI promises.

There are fears about missing the gen AI boat, getting beaten out by competitors who somehow know how to get AI to work for them, or getting eliminated because of the AI revolution. There are uncertainties about long-term costs and legal regulations that are adding to their difficulties.

Businesses should consider these key points when thinking about implementing gen AI within their teams:

  1. Choose performance over novelty.

  2. Combine GenAI with the power of a vector database.

  3. Remember the human in the loop

  4. Trace your data

  5. Have realistic expectations
