How Artificial Intelligence Is Impacting Video

"The difference now is that you don’t have to be a videographer to create compelling video content."

The integration of AI into video technology is bringing in a new era of digital marketing and content creation. It is enhancing the video experience through advanced editing tools, personalized content delivery, and sophisticated analytics.

Vimeo’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lynn Girotto, highlights the transformative effects of AI, which include streamlining video production and enabling precise audience targeting.

AI’s capabilities are not limited to content creation but extend to providing marketers with deep insights into viewer engagement. This allows for the development of highly targeted marketing strategies that resonate with audiences on a personal level. The adoption of AI in video platforms is becoming a necessity for those seeking to maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Gen-AI Search Engine Perplexity Has a Plan to Sell Ads

Perplexity, an AI search engine rivaling traditional giants, is set to revolutionize the digital ad space. With a hefty $73.6 million Series B funding, including investments from Jeff Bezos, Perplexity is introducing a native advertising model within its platform.

Unlike conventional search engines, Perplexity answers user queries with AI-generated responses, incorporating web sources, videos, images, and data from partners like Yelp. It even cites sources and suggests related questions, which will soon feature native ads.

The move is strategic, aiming to monetize the 40% of queries that are related questions. Brands can influence these questions, subtly integrating their presence in the AI’s responses. This approach promises a seamless user experience, avoiding the disruption typical of traditional ads.

Perplexity’s chief business officer, Dmitry Shevelenko, emphasizes the importance of scalability and brand safety, ensuring relevance and avoiding unwanted associations.

As Perplexity gears up to launch this ad model in the coming quarters, it faces the challenge of proving its effectiveness to marketers. The platform must attract enough users to interest advertisers and demonstrate the value of its targeting capabilities. If successful, Perplexity could set a new standard for advertising in the AI era, blending user queries with brand messages in a harmonious dance of information and promotion.
